Keiser: no ordinary gym

Keiser gym

If going to the gym is not quite your cup of tea, Keiser might just convince you otherwise. For over 40 years, this fitness company has been transforming the way people of diverse ages and abilities exercise, improving their quality of life.

Studies show that muscular strength is a strong predictor of longevity, yet between the ages of 30 and 80, we lose approximately half of our strength. Keiser believes in empowering older people with the knowledge and equipment to achieve and maintain optimum health.

Easy to use, and designed to reduce shock-loading to muscles, tissues and joints, Keiser equipment lets you work out safely, improving physical performance, reducing hospital readmissions and improving mental wellbeing.

To get technical, Keiser machines have a zero starting resistance, helping the most inexperienced beginners start their strength-building journey. They also allow small, incremental increases in resistance, reducing injury and helping you to gradually increase your weight-lifting threshold. Another advantage of Keiser is that they are designed for you to step into, rather than onto, reducing strain on joints.

Why aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy works on three main levels: through the sense of smell, through absorption and through absorption via skin.

Smell: The sense of smell is linked to some of the oldest and deepest parts of the brain. As we breathe in the aromas of the essential oils, it can trigger emotional and even physical responses and allow vivid memory recall of people or places.

Absorption: Inhalation of the essential oils is especially effective within the respiratory system as their antibacterial and antiviral properties make them ideal for maintaining a healthy respiratory system. This includes the sinuses, throat and chest and also to help relieve symptoms of infections and allergies.

Absorption through the skin: Most essential oils have antibacterial properties; some are antiviral, antifungal and/or anti-inflammatory. Essential oils also contain antioxidants which help to prevent cell damage and protect against the build-up of toxic waste in skin cells, thereby helping reduce signs of ageing.

By penetrating into the deeper layers of the skin, essential oils can have a positive effect on the skin, such as optimizing the cellular renewal process, enhancing blood circulation and addressing problems such as acne, eczema and ageing skin.
