As indoor and outdoor sports facilities, clubs and groups start to reopen around the country, now is the perfect time to get back to the hobbies that we have missed throughout lockdown restrictions or a good time to try out something new.

For golf enthusiasts living in Berkshire, where our later living Renaissance Crowthorne, Renaissance Sandhurst  and Renaissance Wokingham communities are  also based, there are plenty of golf courses to be enjoyed throughout the warmer months to make up for all the time spent indoors.

Here are a few of our top picks:

The Berkshire Golf Club

Founded in 1928, The Berkshire Golf Club is one the top golf courses in the UK.

Designed by top golf architect, Herbert Fowler, the club in Ascot is home to a red and blue course which spans across 372 acres of stunning Crown Estate heathland and are widely regarded as two of the best courses in the British Isles. The club can be accessed by both members and the general public at the moment. A bar, pro shop, meeting room, terrace and restaurant are also available for golfers to enjoy for a quick bite in between sessions or to relax after a long day on the courses.

East Berkshire Golf Club

Designed in 1903 by Peter Paxton, East Berkshire was originally a heathland course in Crowthorne which has evolved into a mature tree-lined parkland course over the years. The club welcomes members from the age of ten through to individuals and groups from the general public. Alongside the course, golfers can enjoy a variety of facilities including a practice range, short game area, putting green, locker room and a bar and dining room offering hearty British food.

Bearwood Lakes

Set amidst 200 acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside in Wokingham, the 18 holes golf course at Bearwood Lakes is steeped in history. Originally set within the grounds of Windsor Great Park, the Bearwood Estates has formed part of the hunting grounds for the Kings of England since the 11th century until it was transformed into a unique golf course in 1996. The club is exclusively open to members and their guests where they can also enjoy expert tutoring and participate in competitions. A clubhouse offering stunning views over the course and fine dining is also available for members to unwind and relax.
