July 2017: Specialist retirement living developer, PegasusLife, has announced the completion of its first age-exclusive development in the North West, ‘Chapelwood’ in Wilmslow. The development is PegasusLife’s first to offer a full range of social amenities on site including a deli cafe, as well as a gym and spa.
The 57 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments have been designed by award-winning architects Glenn Howells, in a style reflective of the area’s Victorian red brick villas. Apartments are open-plan to maximise natural light and feature private balconies and terraces with views over the grounds.
Chapelwood residents can enjoy the gym and stretch studio, which has been designed by fitness experts Keiser to be particularly beneficial to people over the age of 60. A spa with a sauna, hydrotherapy pool, treatment rooms and spa garden is also on site and provides a tranquil haven for anyone choosing to live there.
The lounge, complete with an honesty bar, is a place for residents to socialise or spend some quiet time reading and relaxing and the deli café – open to friends and neighbours alike – serves up fresh, local produce and seasonal dishes daily. A guest suite is also available for friends and family visiting the development.
Clare Bacchus, Client Experience Director, PegasusLife, commented:
“With its leafy streets and redbrick buildings, Wilmslow is one of the most sought-after locations in the UK and the perfect place to launch PegasusLife’s first development in the North West.
“Having space to socialise, exercise and of course, relax, are key to elements in maintaining health and wellbeing in your later years. Chapelwood allows residents to do all three but in a very relaxed, accessible and welcoming manner. Being a Chapelwood resident is a bit like being a member of a club where you feel at home, you can always find a friendly face, or a quiet nook to just be.
We’re redefining the very essence of what a so-called retirement development is. In fact, when you come to Chapelwood, we want you to think simply that it’s a great development, with beautiful apartments, and an enviable lifestyle thrown in.”
PegasusLife offers all homes on a 999-year lease and, as an additional layer of comfort for residents and their families, on-going maintenance and property management is offered on a not-for-profit basis.
