Health & Safety Policy Statement

The board, led by the Chief Executive Officer, believes that excellent standards of health and safety are essential for the well being of our people, reputation and business performance. Our aim is to integrate health and safety into every activity carried out by the business. We are committed to ensuring that all our activities are conducted in accordance with industry best practices, thus ensuring the health and safety of our staff, customers, contractors and all others affected by our undertakings.

The board has appointed a Head of Health and Safety to guide the Board on all matters of health and safety. The Board of Directors, our Executive Team and all senior staff are responsible for implementing this policy throughout the company and must ensure that health and safety considerations are always given priority in planning and in day to day activities.

PegasusLife Group is committed to the core requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act and other key legislation relevant to the business, to continuous improvement of health and safety performance and in furtherance of its objectives. It is our policy to:

  • provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment including safe access arrangements and suitable welfare facilities;

  • provide information, instruction, training and supervision to enable employees to perform their work safely;

  • display a copy of this policy at every location and bring the policy to the attention of new starters;

  • undertake risk assessments, implement the identified control measures and ensure that safe systems of work are applied in relation to all of our activities;

  • ensure safety and the absence of risks to health in connection with the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances;

  • minimise the use of hazardous or dangerous substances and where their use cannot be eliminated, implement suitable controls;

  • make available where necessary, safety devices and protective equipment;

  • assess the competence of all contractor and suppliers we engage and to ensure that information is exchanged on matters relevant to health and safety;

  • be prepared for emergencies such as fire and medical emergencies and investigate all incidents of injury or ill health; and

  • promote a positive health and safety culture within the organisation, consulting with employees on health and safety matters either directly or through the Health and Safety Working Group.
