Who We Are
PegasusLife is about retirement living, but not as you know it. We are a specialist property developer on a mission to fundamentally change the way retirement property is understood in the UK. We are the new generation, providing breathtaking designs combined with outstanding service.
Helicon is the part of the PegasusLife Group providing property management. It is our job to take care of the developments and make sure that our owners enjoy living in it.
We are looking to recruit a Host for our team that will provide the top quality service our ambitions require, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.
As a Host you will be the hub of the development, providing a positive and service led approach to developing the community. Being the face of Helicon, you’ll help everyone settle into their new homes and facilitate the lifestyle they are aiming for. You are the first person that everyone turns to for everything; from organising social events such as monthly bake off, high tea and sundowner drinks events on the terrace, to providing insights about the local area to changing a light bulb!
You will be the fountain of all knowledge of all things local and will build strong and trustworthy relationships with with local contractors and suppliers to ensure the building is maintained to the highest of standards. To live our not for profit approach you will help to oversee a small budget, taking care of expenditure and ensuring great value for money.
You’ll live our values and service ethos from move in day and beyond, coordinating and initiating new ways of delivering a great living experience through building relationships with the owners and finding out what makes them tick.
You’ll share our view that it’s about the little things:
It’s finding out about the local exhibition opening and sending a note around to see who’d be interested. Next weekend?
It’s putting the kettle on and spreading word of coffee and cake in the lounge. Ginger slice today. Ellen’s favourite.
It’s tidying up the lounge ready for book club at 7. They’re on Ian McEwan’s new one this week.
This unique role offers an exceptional opportunity, in a leading retirement living development.
We are looking for an intuitive people person who’s empathetic approach, warmth, and insight enables them to build relationships with all of our owners in the development. You’ll be used to talking to people and using your instinct to go the extra mile. You will have plenty of energy and positivity to manage our service partners as well as a simple budget.
Your approach means that you strive to exceed expectations, always putting the customer first, taking a long term view and treating everyone with respect. Delighting our owners will be your focus, but you are also respectful when dealing with our partners and your colleagues. Motivation is important and you’ll be able to work on your own initiative, but also contribute to the wider PegasusLife team.
As you would expect, our expectations are high and your experience will be key to meeting and exceeding them. You will have worked in a customer facing role, probably in tourism, hospitality or retail, meaning your communications skills will be excellent. You’ll have experienced much of what the local areas has to offer and be empathetic to people's needs.
We are looking for a part-time Host to join the team at our Hortsley, Seaford development, covering 7 days per week with their colleague.
Please note this position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Location, Salary & Benefits
This role comes with a competitive basic salary and bonus, alongside a benefits package including enhanced annual leave, life assurance, Healthshield, and a contributory pension.
It will be based at our Hortsley, Seaford Development, although there may be occasional travel to our other offices and developments.
