The Role

Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, this new role sits within the Legal and Compliance team. The Construction Health and Safety Manager will provide support and advice across the business in relation to construction and operational activities as well as ensuring that we are CDM compliant.

Working with the Head of Health and Safety, they will ensure that we comply fully with our duties as Client when it comes to design and construction activities and that we have adequate safety measures and systems in place for construction operations undertaken at construction and operational sites. The Health and Safety Manager will also make sure that any construction site accidents and near misses are reported and investigated to an appropriate level in a timely manner. In addition to the construction focused elements, this role will contribute to the wider Health and Safety activities around the business.

They will also be responsible for providing training across the business and for the sharing and documenting of Health and Safety best practices.

This position is offered on a Fixed-Term Contract basis for 18 months. 

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety professional who is NEBOSH, SMSTS and CMIOSH qualified to join the team. Our ideal candidate will have extensive construction site experience, as well as demonstratable experience and understanding of the Construction, Design and Management Regulations 2015 principles and methodologies.

You will be a personable yet professional team player, able to communicate with people at all levels and comfortable pushing the Health and Safety agenda, stressing the importance and benefits. Excellent attention to detail is vital in the role, as is the ability to be methodical in the recording of information, as well as ensuring necessary follow-up is executed.

To travel to sites and developments in a range of locations around the country, the successful candidate must have a full UK driving license.

Location, Salary, Benefits

This role comes with a competitive basic salary, car allowance and bonus, alongside a benefits package including enhanced annual leave, life assurance, Healthshield, and a contributory pension. 

It will be based from our Head Office in Winchester, although there will be frequent travel to our other offices and sites.

The position is offered on a Fixed-Term Contract basis for 18 months.
